Scaffold comes down on Block B
The removal of scaffold from Block B's front elevation is one of the more significant milestones of recent months. Scaffold comes down in sections as each part of the exterior is completed and signed off, and its absence here means the building can be seen in its intended form for the first time. Together with Block A, which reached the same point earlier in the programme, both apartment buildings are now largely free of the temporary infrastructure that has surrounded them throughout construction.

Internal works approach the finish line
Inside the apartments, floor finishing works are complete across several plots, with common areas, stairwells, and utility spaces fitted out to a high standard. Metering infrastructure and fire safety systems, including dry riser outlets, which allow firefighters to connect hoses directly to the building's water supply at height, are in place across the block. The Guinness Clerk of Works, an independent inspector appointed to quality-check the construction on behalf of the housing association, has been on site throughout August and September, with their visits forming part of the structured handover process now underway.

The later housing phases near completion
The later phases of housing have progressed to the point where the buildings themselves are largely complete. Brick elevations are finished, rooflines are in place, and the character of the development is clearly legible: traditional brick and zinc-clad townhouses arranged around shared courtyards, with the apartment blocks anchoring the wider scheme. The focus has shifted from active build to quality management and preparation for handover.

Looking ahead and updated timelines
Progress across the apartment buildings and the wider housing phases puts St Leonards Quarter firmly in its final construction chapter. Construction is programmed to complete in August 2027, with units anticipated to be sold around December 2027. The coming months will see internal fit-out concluded across the remaining apartments, external works finished on the last plots, and the site progressively handed over phase by phase.
