Groundworks and structural activity progress

The crane is now in operation, supporting reinforced concrete works to the bank and Plots 9 to 13. Waterproof membranes and steel reinforcement have been installed to several sections, with concrete pours underway. The sea defence wall is also well underway, with shuttering and casting taking place. The photos below show the front façade now fully retained with steel supports, allowing safe demolition of the old concrete roof and internal structures behind it.

The original façade is held in place by steel supports, preserving its character while construction progresses behind it.

Looking ahead to the new structure

Upcoming phases will focus on forming blockwork cores, installing block and beam floors, and commencing steel framing to the ground floor. Scaffold is being extended to support roof removal at the bank, and internal layout works are progressing in tandem. Procurement is running on schedule, with key orders placed for windows, roof timbers, and joists. The site continues to evolve rapidly, setting strong foundations for the build to come.
