Gannel Waterside - Construction Snapshot: March 2026

Work at Gannel Waterside is progressing steadily, with groundworks advancing and the structural frame beginning to take shape. This month's update covers the most active areas on site, from foundation work and below-ground services through to the early stages of the rising structure.

Foundations Taking Shape

Pad foundations are now established across the development footprint, with rebar starter bars cast in position ready to receive the columns above. Excavation remains active in several areas as the team continues to work through ground conditions across the lower site.

Pad foundations are visible across the site in the top image, with rebar starter bars cast in and excavation still active. The lower image shows the ground floor slab pour underway, with the concrete being screeded and levelled across the reinforced base.

Ground Floor Slab

The ground floor slab pour is underway across both residential blocks, with concrete being screeded and levelled to the required finish. Aerial views capture the full extent of the pour, with rebar grids awaiting encasement. At ground level, the finished surface reveals service penetrations and column starter bars set to receive the structure above.

Apartments and Houses Progressing in Tandem

On the apartment block, all pad foundations are complete with drainage and underground services installed. Steel fabrication for the second half of the structural floor is in progress. On the house plots, reinforced concrete works to the lower level are complete and the ground floor slab is now underway, bringing both parts of the scheme forward together.

Infrastructure Milestones

The Environment Agency has granted consent for the storm outfall works, clearing the way for surface water drainage to connect to the agreed discharge point. Utility connections to the site have also been completed, with power and communications infrastructure now in place.
