Canynge Place - Construction Snapshot: March 2026

The conversion of Somerset House, a former 1960s office building on Canynge Road in Clifton, is well into fit-out. Thirty-five one and two-bedroom apartments are taking shape across the existing building and a new-build rooftop extension, with work now advancing on multiple fronts simultaneously.

Fit-Out Progressing Across Both Wings

The west wing is furthest ahead, with second fix underway across a number of units. Kitchen installations, tiling, sanitary ware and flooring are all actively in progress. The east wing is following in sequence, with second fix joinery now started and skim being completed throughout. In the basement, boarding is also underway.

Inside the east wing second fix joinery is underway as Somerset House continues its transformation from 1960s office building to 35 contemporary Clifton apartments.

Exterior Works Advancing

Cladding has recommenced across the building, with the entrance canopy structure now underway. The remaining window cills are being sprayed as the external envelope is brought progressively closer to completion.
